Still time to apply for community funding

There is still time for local charities and community groups to take advantage of the opportunity to receive cash grants, thanks to London Luton Airport’s (LLA) Community Trust Fund.

Annually at least a minimum of £50,000 is available for individual grants ranging from £250 to £7,500. Projects which benefit people in Luton, or those from Central Bedfordshire, North Herts District, Stevenage, Dacorum, St. Albans District or the Aylesbury Vale District are welcome to apply.

The Community Trust Fund was established by LLA to provide a financial boost to a range of local charities, clubs, and community organisations in the areas of Beds, Herts and Bucks. The scheme is independently administered by the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation and has awarded £446,625 since it began in 2009.

During 2016 more than 20 community groups across Beds, Herts and Bucks received grants totalling £106,000 from the fund.

Chika Austin, Community Relations Executive at LLA said “We’re not just a business, we’re part of the local community and we want to make sure that our neighbours share in our success. The Community Trust Fund is one of the ways we’re giving back to the people and organisations who are making a difference in our community. Whether you’re a sports team, a charity or a band, I would encourage everyone to consider applying.”

Awards are ongoing throughout the year and the deadline for the next round of grants is 3rd of September. For more information about how to apply please visit http://www.london-luton.co.uk/community-trust-fund
