Brighton Gin has strengthened its small batch, hand-made offering with the launch of its highly anticipated Seaside Strength Navy Gin.
Following twelve months of recipe development and process refinement, the new Seaside Strength Navy Gin has four times more juniper and double the amount of fresh orange and lime peel than is used in the multiple award-winning Brighton Gin.
Brighton Gin founder and MD Kathy Caton explains:
“Our new Seaside Strength Gin is big, bold and a real gin-lover’s gin. With the alcohol at 57% ABVit can hold so much flavour. We’ve used our classic original Brighton Gin botanicals but riffed with the recipe and the process to create a fantastic sipping gin that also makes a world-class gin and tonic. It’s Brighton Gin turned up to 11 and we’re delighted to see the reaction from our customers. It’s amazing simply over ice with a wheel of lime or opened up with a splash of tonic or soda. It’s a bracing walk beside the beach or a glass of cheer at the end of the Pier.”
“Juniper is the star attraction but there is a cascade of zesty citrus on the nose with hints of candied orange, a whisper of pine and spice too. It’s rich and creamy in the mouth and deliciously satisfying when swallowed, with no hint of burn. The waves of citrus finish go on forever, backed by an exhilarating underlying seaside freshness.”
A true sipping gin, the Seaside Strength Navy Gin is available in 70cl and 35cl bottles and is best served neat over ice or half and half with your favourite tonic and a wheel of lime. Brighton Gin is vegan certified, including the waxed bottle tops.
Love Drinks’ Managing Director Samantha Burke said:
“As the gin boom continues, it’s great to see more and more consumers experimenting and discovering different styles of gin and serves. For gin enthusiasts, this new Seaside Strength Navy Gin is a beauty –jumping with juniper and zesty citrus but retaining a silky smoothness.”
About Brighton Gin
The brainchild of Kathy Caton, Brighton Gin is powered by a love of gin and grounded in the spirit that defines Brighton: independent, fun-loving, open-minded, adventurous and ethically conscious.
Founded in 2014, Brighton Gin was Brighton’s first legal distillery and uses 100% organic wheat grain spirit and the finest fairly traded ingredients, sourcing locally where possible.
Small batch, hand-made and super-premium, Brighton Gin is ‘distilled beside the seaside’ with each bottle filled, waxed and labelled by hand.
With sustainability a key pillar of the brand, the company uses pedal-power to keep their carbon footprint down by delivering locally in Brighton and Hove on their specially adapted gin bikes; all the mash from the distillation process is composted; the bottles are made in England from 40% recycled glass; and a special water cooling system is used in production, which means water is recycled.
The brand has become an iconic and much-loved part of Brighton life and is committed to supporting community events such as beach cleans and local charities such as the Rainbow Fund.
Brighton Gin has garnered many awards in its short life. These include a gold medal at the 2016 Spirits Business Gin Masters, two silver medals at the 2015 International Wine and Spirit Competition and gold for packaging at the 2017 International Wine and Spirits Competition, along with the overall White Spirits packaging trophy, the silver award for best London Dry Gin, and the bronze for best Gin & Tonic. The gin recently picked up bronze in the International Spirit Challenge 2019.
Retail stockists include Harvey Nichols, Fortnum & Mason, Master of Malt, selected Waitrose and Marks & Spencer stores and fine Brighton & Hove independents such as Quaff, Seven Cellars and Twenty One Wines.
In the On-trade, it is the only gin served in both the British Airways i360 tower on Brighton’s seafront and the Brighton Dome concert hall and can be found in celebrated London establishments such as The Holborn Dining Room, the Corinthia Hotel and the Kensington, as well as the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland and the Atlas in Singapore.
