As environmental concerns continue to move up the agenda for the UK government and businesses alike, all opportunities to encourage innovation are to be welcomed with open arms. Which is why events such as the Energy Saving Trust's recent Fleet Hero Awards are more important than ever before. The 8th annual Fleet Hero Awards took place last week (Nov. 28) at London's Institute of Directors to honour England’s green fleet champions. The awards aim to recognise the organisations with the most energy efficient practices and environmentally friendly fleets in order to encourage companies to be more aware of their emission levels.
The ceremony attracted a wide variety of candidates from the likes of Red Bull to the Yorkshire Ambulance Service. Several notable business leaders and government representatives also attended the event, including Marshall Leasing’s own Peter Cakebread, who was on the judging panel.
Cakebread commented: "It was an honour to be invited onto the judging panel for these very worthwhile awards. There were many impressive entries, but those who won on the night were particularly deserving and I extend my congratulations to them all. It is encouraging to see so many organisations taking the green agenda seriously. Hopefully many others will follow in their footsteps."
