LEGO® fans set to take over Carrickfergus with arrival of FREE Brick Built event
Prepare to be enthralled by LEGO® as Brick Built comes to Carrickfergus, and best of all it will be FREE for all the family.
One of the world’s most popular and fun exhibitions, will see a bespoke model of Carrickfergus Castle made out of LEGO®bricks and displayed in the Museum & Civic Centre.
Visitors are invited to get hands on and rebuild the historic town, including the stunning Joymount palace and the medieval St Nicholas’s church.
LEGO® fever has always gripped the world but it’s about to take over Mid and East Antrim with this very unique display.
Just like LEGO® bricks, the focus will be on simple, straightforward fun through using your imagination to build.
From the end of March through to May the exhibition will be in Carrickfergus Museum and Civic Centre’s exhibition gallery, where a fabulous collection of iconic buildings from around the world and throughout history will be on display.
In the mall area will be a giant 3m x 3m play mat showing a bird’s eye view of 17th century Carrickfergus, when it was a walled town and still one of the most important towns in Northern Ireland.
Alderman Billy Ashe MBE, said: “This is a unique event which is coming to Carrickfergus and one that the entire family can get involved in.
“I would encourage everyone to come along while the exhibition is in place and put your creativity to the test.
"It is fantastic to see the Museum working with the Carrickfergus Townscape Heritage Initiative to deliver such a brilliant opportunity for all visiting families.”
The exhibition will open to the public from the 28 March and runs to the 18 May.
