14-year-old questioned on suspicion of driving offences and theft following incident in Garston

Officers in Garston have recovered a stolen motorbike being illegally ridden in the area yesterday, Wednesday 10 April.

At around 11.45am, a local PCSO sighted a Lexmoto Adrenaline motorcycle being ridden in the area of Duchy Fields on Highbank Drive.

A 14-year-old boy from Garston was detained at the scene. He was taken home and voluntarily attended a police station to be questioned on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving with no insurance, and driving with no licence. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

The bike was stolen in a burglary at an address in Runcorn, Cheshire in March. It will now be reunited with its owner.

Community Policing Inspector Paul Holden said: “It is through quick-witted work of one of our officers that this stolen bike was sighted, stopped, recovered and will be returned to the rightful owner.

“We take all reports of suspected illegal driving extremely seriously, as they all have a potential to cause serious harm, distress and damage to those who live and work in our community.

“Keep coming forward with information and we will take positive action to keep the streets as safe as possible for the vast majority of law-abiding road users."
