Appeal after burglary at opticians in Garston

We are appealing for information following a burglary at an opticians in Garston on Wednesday night (10 April).

A report was received at 11.50pm that a number of pairs of designer glasses had been stolen from Glasses 123 on Speke Road after offenders forced entry through a rear wall, damaging the brickwork.

Community Inspector Paul Holden said: "This is a small, independent business and the owner is understandably devastated that it has been targeted in this way.

"It's shameful that there are people who think it is acceptable to destroy the hard work of people who are just trying to earn a living in their community.

“We are determined to bring the person or people responsible before the courts and I would appeal to people who may have seen anything suspicious around the Speke Road area of Garston shortly before midnight on Wednesday to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious that could help is asked to contact Merseyside Police social media desk via Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police CC.
