Appeal after reported assault in Everton

We are appealing for information after it was reported a child was assaulted in Everton on Wednesday evening (25 September 2019).

A report was received just after 7.15pm that a man had hit a girl at about 7.05pm in Everton Park near the junction of Netherfield Road North and Anderson Street. It was reported the girl ran away into the park and the man also left the scene.

The man was described as 5ft 8in tall, of slim build, and aged around 30-40. He was wearing a black cap, dark trousers and hiking boots, and had a dog with him. The girl was wearing a grey tracksuit with a pink stripe.

Officers attended the scene and have spoken to witnesses. Enquiries are ongoing to locate the man and girl, and establish the exact circumstances of the incident including if they are known to each other.
