Appeal after robbery at bank in Everton

We are appealing for information after a robbery at a bank in Everton today (Tuesday 30 July 2019).

A report was received just before 3.20pm that a man entered Lloyds bank on Breck Road and threatened a cashier. He then made off on foot with a quantity of cash.

The member of staff was left shaken but uninjured.

The offender was described as white, in his 40s, 5ft 8in tall, with black hair and of slim build. He had stubble and wore glasses, and tape on his fingers.

Witness and CCTV enquiries are ongoing and detectives wish to speak to anyone who witnessed any part of the incident or who may have seen the offender acting suspiciously before or after to get in touch.

Chief Inspector Phil Thompson said: "Thankfully no-one was injured during this incident, but it has left staff extremely shaken and I would appeal to anyone with information to contact us immediately, to help us remove these people from the streets.

"To be faced with such a cowardly act when you are just trying to do your job is completely unacceptable and we will do everything possible to identify the offenders and bring them to justice, and ensure Everton is a safe place to work.

“If you were driving in this area of Breck Road and have dashcam, I would urge you to check it for the man described and to let us know if you have anything that could assist our enquiries.”
