Appeal following a burglary in Toxteth

We are appealing for information following a burglary in Toxteth last week.

It was reported on Tuesday 5 March that an offender had entered a flat on Devonshire Road through an insecure window before carrying out an untidy search of the property.

The offender stole cash, clothing, bedding, perfume and other items.

It is believed the burglary happened between 5pm on Monday 4 March and 2.35pm on Tuesday 5 March.

The scene has been forensically examined, house to house enquiries have been carried out and CCTV opportunities are being explored.

Detective Inspector Judith Blease said: "The victim has been left extremely upset by this incident.

“Not only have cash and a number of items been taken, the burglars have violated the very place this resident should feel safe and secure.

"Our investigations will continue until we catch those responsible and I would urge anyone who has any information that can help us to reunite the victim with their property to contact the police."

Detective Inspector Blease added: “We continue our efforts to tackle burglary and have had great success in apprehending offenders and bringing them to justice, with offenders jailed for more than 100 years since Operation Castle began last March.”
