Appeal following attempted theft of car in Liverpool

We are appealing for information following the attempted theft of a vehicle in a supermarket car park in Liverpool.

We were called at about 12.05pm on Sunday 14 July to a report a man forcibly took the victim’s car keys from his hand as he approached his black Mercedes car outside Tesco on Allerton Road in Woolton.

Following a struggle, the offender ran away on foot in the direction of Dairy Mews Flats, followed by the victim.

The suspect then assaulted the victim, causing injuries to his shoulder and face, before making off.

The victim, a 45-year-old man, then sought the help of local residents and police were alerted.

The offender is described as white, in his mid 20s, 5ft 7in tall, and of slim build. He had short styled brown hair with a short beard and was wearing a white button shirt with
navy trousers and a light blue jacket.
