Appeal following theft of necklace from pensioner in Tuebrook

We are appealing for help in tracing a necklace which was stolen from a pensioner in Tuebrook.

At around 11.45am on Friday 31st May a silver/grey car, believed to be an old style Vauxhall Astra, pulled up at a property in Chester Road.

A woman got out of the car and approached the occupier of the house, a woman in her 70s, who was in the front garden of the property. As she leant in to speak to her the pensioner realised her gold necklace was missing from around her neck.

The woman then proceeded to remove a necklace from her own neck and give it to the pensioner before getting into the car and leaving.

The pensioner was not injured but left shaken by her ordeal.

The necklace is gold with distinctive heart and gold cross pendants.

Anyone who recognises the necklace, or has been offered it for sale, or has any information about the theft is asked to DM @MerPolCC, call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 19100279725.
