Appeal following theft of school mini bus - Aigburth

We are appealing for information after the theft of a school mini bus from a school in Aigburth.

A report was received at around 7am today, Friday, 2 August, that the silver Mercedes Sprinter van had been stolen from Auckland College Independent School on Parkfield Road. It is believed to have been stolen overnight.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Roads Policing Constable Neil Clark said: “The mini bus is very distinctive as it is covered with the school logo and I would appeal to anyone who may have seen it, or has any information on the theft, to please come forward.

“It’s hard to believe anyone would stoop so low as to take a vehicle which belongs to a school and we will do all that we can to locate those responsible. If you have dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, please contact us as any information, no matter how small could prove vital to our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police social media desk via Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police CC. You can also call 101 quoting incident reference 19100424039 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or via their online form at: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/give-information.
