Appeal for withesses following attempted robbery in Kirkby

We are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery at a garage in Kirkby yesterday, Thursday 21^st February.

At around 3.40pm three males arrived at an industrial garage on Owen Road in a blue BMW car and attempted to steal a grey Audi S3.

A member of the public intervened and was threatened by the males who they made off in the BMW in the direction of Kirkby.

An investigation is underway and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area.

Detective Chief Inspector Craig Sumner said: “I would appeal for anyone who was in the vicinity of Owen Road yesterday who saw anything suspicious to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who may have been in the area and captured the blue BMW 1 series on dash-cam footage to get in touch as they may have information which is vital to our investigation.”
