Appeal for witnesses after shots fired at a house in Willow Way, Croxteth

News   •   Feb 16, 2019 11:05 GMT

We are appealing for information after shots were fired at a house in Croxteth last night, Friday, 15 February.

At around 10.55pm, it was reported a male had attempted to force entry to a house in Willow Way, before the property was shot at twice. A woman in her 60’s received a minor leg injury and damage was found to have been caused to a door which was consistent with a firearm discharge.

It was reported a male shot at the house before a dark coloured car was seen making off in the direction of East Lancashire Road. The male was described as of slim build, around 5ft 2in tall, wearing dark clothing and a facial covering.

Emergency services attended and detectives and community officers have carried out house-to-house, forensic and witness enquiries and are providing reassurance to the community.

Detective Inspector Cath Haggerty said: "The investigation is at a very early stage but we are keen to speak to anyone with information about this reckless incident in Willow Way last night, which has left a woman in her 60’s with an injury.

“We are devoting resources to identify those responsible and ensure they are put before the courts, as well as anyone who helps store weapons on behalf of criminal groups.

"I want to appeal to anyone in the community who saw or heard anything at around 10.55pm in the area, or who has any information which may help our investigation, to come forward immediately.

"I would also appeal to any motorists or taxi drivers in the area at the time who may have dashcam footage to please come forward.
