Appeal for witnesses following robbery in Liverpool

We are investigating following reports of a robbery in Liverpool this morning, Monday 17th June.

We were contacted at 10.10am after a cash box was stolen by two males from a security guard outside the Co-op store on Lark Lane.

The males, who are believed to have been armed with a knife and a hammer, left the scene in a black BMW which travelled up Lark Lane in the direction of Sefton Park.

The guard was not injured during the incident but was left shaken by his ordeal.

The damaged cash box was recovered in Byles Street in Toxteth.

An investigation is underway and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area.

Detective Inspector Phil Mahon said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Lark Lane this morning who saw what happened or anyone who saw the black BMW 1 Series car in the area either before or after the robbery to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who thinks they may have captured the car on dash-cam footage to contact us as they may have information which is vital to our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC, call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting log 277 of 17th June.
