BB Gun and cash seized following warrant in Woodchurch, Wirral

We have seized an imitation firearm and cash following a warrant carried out in Woodchurch, Birkenhead in the early hours of yesterday morning, Wednesday 12 June.

At 12.30am, officers attended a house in Grasswood Road and located a BB handgun and cash. Enquiries are ongoing in relation to the warrant and the firearm was seized for forensic enquiries.

Inspector Chris Lucan-Pratt from Wirral Targeted Team said: “Imitation firearms have the potential to cause fear, intimidation and harm in our communities so it is a relief to see one removed from the streets. We will continue to act swiftly and decisively when we receive information on the storage of weapons and other items.

“You can provide information in a number of ways, directly to police, via our partners including housing agencies and Wirral Council, or anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers, which is completely independent of police. However you tell us, tell us and we’ll make your area safer.”

Anyone with information on weapons being stored in their community is asked to contact the social media desk @MerPolCC, call 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
