CCTV appeal following armed robbery at West Derby convenience store

Detectives are issuing CCTV images of a man we think may have information following an armed robbery at a West Derby shop in May.

At 8.55pm on Saturday 11 May, an unknown man entered McColls convenience store on Baycliff Road and produced a knife, before demanding cash from staff. Cash was stolen and the suspect left on foot in the direction of Mab Lane.

Witness and CCTV enquiries are ongoing and detectives want to speak to the man pictured, as he may have vital information.

Detective Inspector Phil Mahon said: "This incident left staff shocked, although thankfully uninjured. To put someone in fear when they are simply carrying out their work is despicable and cowardly behaviour.

"I want to reassure all businesses in the area that we will act on all information provided to find the person responsible and put them before the courts."

Anyone with information or who recognises the man pictured is asked to contact @MerPolCC, call 101 with reference 19100236591 or @CrimestoppersUK anonymously on 0800 555 111.
