CCTV appeal following robbery at clothes store in Walton

Detectives investigating a robbery at a shop in Walton are issuing the CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with the offence.

At around 1.20pm on Saturday, 16 February, officers were called to Joseph's Childrens’ Wear on County Road to reports of a robbery. A man entered the shop and attempted to steal a Hugo Boss jacket, tracksuit and jeans.

Following a brief struggle with a staff member, he ran off with items and the victim fell down, resulting in injuries to her arm and hip.

CCTV enquiries have been ongoing and anyone with other CCTV images, or any information is asked to come forward.

Detective Inspector Paul Speight said: “We believe that the man pictured may be able to assist in our enquiries.

“This was a brazen robbery in which a member of staff carrying out their work was left distressed and with injuries, which were thankfully not more serious.

“Working alongside businesses across Liverpool, we will act on all information provided to find the person responsible and put them before the courts.

“We want everyone who works and visits our businesses to feel safe and secure from day to day and your information can make a real difference in targeted those who bring fear to our communities.”

Anyone with information can contact @MerPolCC, call 101 with reference 19100054800 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
