CCTV appeal of man who may have information following sexual assault in Liverpool City Centre

We are issuing the CCTV image of a man who may have information following a sexual assault in Liverpool City Centre in April.

At around 3.30am on Wednesday 10 April, the female victim was walking down Duke Street near to the junction with Kent Street when she was approached by a man, who walked alongside her before dragging her into an alleyway and sexually assaulting her.

The victim managed to get free from the man and raise the alarm.

Extensive forensic, witness and CCTV enquiries have been ongoing and detectives would like to speak to the man pictured, who may have vital information.

Detective Constable Jemma Berry said: “This was an appalling attack, which has understandably left the victim extremely distressed and fearful. She continues to be supported by specialist officers while we investigate the incident, and following lengthy enquiries, we are now in a position to issue this image.

“The man pictured may have important information, so if you recognise him, come forward immediately and we will take action.”
