Further appeal following RTC in Birkenhead with 11-year-old boy injured

We are further appealing for information following an RTC on Borough Road, Birkenhead, on Sunday, 25 August, when an 11-year-old boy was injured after being in collision with a car.

Emergency services were called to the above location at around 3:20pm to reports that the child, who was on a bike at the time, had been in a collision with a Mercedes car.

The boy was taken to hospital with a head injury and was in a critical condition following the incident, however, his condition has now improved.

The driver, a man in his 50s, of the car remained at scene assisting officers with their continued investigation.

Inspector Stuart McIver said: “We are once again appealing for people to come forward with any information they might have, whether they witnessed the incident or have caught it on their dascham, any information will help with our investigation.

“A young boy was injured and we would like to establish how this happened, so please talk to us – any information could help us, no matter how small.”
