Man arrested after containment in Bootle

A man has been arrested today (Thursday 28 March) following an incident in Bootle. 

Armed officers were called to a premises on Bedford Road shortly after 5.10pm where an armed containment was put in place.

The man was detained at around 6.15pm and has been taken into custody to be interviewed. Enquiries in the area are ongoing.

No one else was in the property and there are no reports of any injuries.

Road closures put in place during the incident are now being lifted. We would like to thank local residents for their patience while police attended.
