Man arrested and drugs, cash and taser seized following warrant in Birkenhead

Officers in Birkenhead have arrested a man and seized suspected cannabis, cash and a Taser following a warrant this morning, Thursday 29 August.

At around 11am, officers carried out a warrant at an address in Rodney Street. 30 bags of suspected cannabis, around £4,000 in cash and a torch-style Taser were found and a man was detained.

A 51-year-old man from Birkenhead was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and possession of an electrical incapacitation device. He has been taken to a police station for questioning.

Community Policing Inspector Georgina Minnery said: "This warrant, like many, was a result of intelligence from the community, and I want to pass on our thanks to all of those who come forward with what they know. Such information is vital in taking this positive action, and removes drugs, weapons and other risks from where you live.

"Keep the information flowing and we will keep targeting those people and locations causing issues."
