Man arrested and suspected Khat and £17,000 cash seized following stop check in Toxteth

We have arrested a man and seized drugs and a large amount of cash following a stop check in Toxteth on Sunday night, 25 August.

At around 10.30pm, Matrix officers on patrol in Embledon Street sighted a Toyota Yaris parked up. The driver was suspected of being in possession of drugs. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected Khat, and around £17,000 cash.

A 26-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class C drugs and money laundering.

He was taken to a police station for questioning and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
