Man arrested following report of sexual assault in Everton Park

A man has been arrested following a report a man was sexually assaulted in Everton Park.

At around 8.50pm on Monday 22 April, a man in his 30s reported he had gone into the park with another man at around 7pm on Sunday 21 April, where he alleged he was sexually assaulted by the man.

Officers attended a wooded area of the park and carried our forensic examinations.

The man, although uninjured, was left shaken following her ordeal.

Yesterday (Tuesday 23 April), a 35-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of rape.

He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue into the circumstances of the incident.
