Man arrested following shots fired in Birkenhead

Detectives investigating shots fired in Birkenhead earlier this month have arrested a man today, Thursday 25 July.

At around 7.25pm on Friday 12 July, officers attended reports of shots being fired in Victoria Fields. Evidence was found but no damage or persons injured.

As part of ongoing work to disrupt serious and organised crime across Merseyside, a warrant was carried out this morning in Tranmere.

A 20-year-old man from Tranmere was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, possession of a firearm and possession with intent to supply cannabis.

He has been taken to a police station for questioning.
