Man charged after machete incident in Birkenhead

A man has been charged after a man was threatened with a machete in Birkenhead on Monday (22 April 2019).

A report was received shortly after 9pm that a man had been seen in Singleton Avenue threatening another man with the machete.

Officers attended and a man was arrested, and the machete recovered for forensic examination.

James Dean Ryan, 42 years, of Digg Lane, Moreton has been charged with threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place.

He has been bailed to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court on 29 May 2019.
