**UPDATED 12.55PM** Man charged with theft and driving offences following crash of suspected stolen car in Speke
**UPDATE 12.55PM** Morrison has appeared in court and pleaded guilty to the offences, he will be sentenced in August**
Detectives investigating a burglary in Childwall last week have charged a man with various offences.
At some time between 6pm on Saturday 20 July and 1am on Sunday 21 July, entry was gained to a home in Irene Road and various items were stolen, including a Mercedes E220 car.
On Monday 22 July, the car was sighted on Stanley Park Avenue and following a short pursuit, with assistance from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter, subsequently crashed on Speke Boulevard. A man was detained on suspicion of theft.
25-year-old Curtis Morrison of no fixed abode has now been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving with no insurance, failing to provide a specimen and failing to co-operate with a preliminary test.
Morrison will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 24 July.
