Man stabbed to death in city centre named

A man who died after being stabbed in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of yesterday, Sunday 2nd June, has been named as Bala Lloyd-Evans.

The 33 year-old, who was from the Toxteth area, was found by officers who were called to a disturbance on Back Colquitt Street at 3am.

A post mortem has revealed that the cause of death was a single stab wound to the heart.

Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

A 19 year-old man and a 24 year-old man, both from the Toxteth area, who were arrested on suspicion of murder remain in custody where they are being questioned by detectives.

An investigation remains ongoing and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area.
