Merseyside Police is thanking the vast majority of fans for their behaviour at the Liverpool v Bayern Munich match last night, Tuesday, 19 February.

In total three arrests were made for various offences, they were as follows:

A 21-year-old male from Munich, arrested and cautioned for drunk and disorderly behaviour
A 30-year-old male from Liverpool, arrested on suspicion of ticket touting following an incident in Williamson Square
A 31-year-old male from France, arrested on suspicion of assault after a man was punched causing a facial injury

Superintendent Dave Charnock said: “Although we did see a small number of arrests yesterday, the overwhelming majority of Liverpool and Bayern Munich fans who both went to the game and watched it at various locations across the city were extremely well behaved.

“Any sporting event means a large policing operation and it is always a pleasure to accommodate fans and welcome them to the city when they are so well spirited. I would like to thank the supporters of both clubs for their cooperation and assistance both before, during and after the match.”
