Officers ask the public for their help following robbery in Toxteth
We’re appealing for witnesses following a cash in transit robbery yesterday morning (28th November).
The incident is reported to have happened at around 11.15am on Lodge Lane, Toxteth when a security guard was making a cash delivery at Spendwell on Lodge Lane.
The lone offender, who is described as a white man, in his 20s, around 5ft9 and wearing a black beanie hat, black hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms and trainers was believed to be carrying a weapon described as a machete. He demanded the cash box from the security guard before making off with the cash box in what is reported to be a black Audi A3.
Inspector Andy Creer said: “Luckily the guard was unharmed, however this is a shocking incident. Officers are currently undertaking CCTV and forensic analysis to identify the person responsible.
