Pharmacy van containing prescription drugs stolen from Harecroft, Stockbridge Village

Detectives have launched an investigation after a pharmacy delivery van, containing prescription drugs, was stolen in Stockbridge Village this afternoon (Friday, 12 April 2019).

The driver of the pharmacy van was making a delivery to a house in Harecroft at about 2.40pm when a man, in his mid-20s, approached the white Volkswagen panel van (registration PO59 XAS).

The delivery driver challenged the man who then pushed him to the floor and got into the van, which was last seen heading towards Mab Lane, West Derby.

The offender is described as a white male in his mid 20s and he was wearing a grey jacket and a grey cap.

Detective Sergeant Richie Shillito, said: "I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to anyone who may have been in Harecroft at the time of the incident, or who has seen the van to contact us as soon as possible. Anyone who can help us with our inquiries is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101 quoting reference 0564 off 12 April , or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

"I would also like to remind members of the public that taking medication which is not prescribed for you can be harmful and can even prove fatal. Anyone who comes across the medication is asked to hand it into their nearest pharmacy, or police station."
