Police ask for help to idenitfy dog walker

Merseyside Police are appealing for members of the public to come forward if they recognise this man.

Officers would like to speak to the man featured in the video as we believe he could have vital information to help us investigating a dog on dog attack earlier this month.

The incident is reported to have happened on 1st July at around 10:10am when a man was walking his Jack Russell in Kings Park, Bootle. Here, the Jack Russell was approached by a larger dog that reportedly bit him on the neck. The dogs were separated, however the other dog and the owner made off from the scene.

The Jack Russell was taken to the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals where he remains whilst he recovers.

Sgt Jenni Bowman said: “We’re keen to speak to any witnesses who may have seen the incident or believes they have information to help us identify the man in the video.

"I want to emphasise that anyone walking their dog needs to be mindful of their dogs' behaviour at all times and keep their pet on a lead if it is liable to be aggressive.”

Anyone that recognises the man or has any information about the incident itself should contact @MerPolCC, call 101 or call @CrimestoppersUK anonymously quoting 19100348255.
