Police investigating shooting in Owen Road, Liverpool

Merseyside Police are investigating reports of a firearms incident this morning (1st January).

Police were called to Owen Road, Liverpool at 10.20am following reports that a man in his 20s had been shot in the leg.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, however his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Warlow said: “Carrying a gun can result in serious consequences and I would strongly advise anyone that saw the incident to get in touch as a matter of urgency so we can locate those responsible.

“Officers are keen to trace two men, who were dressed in black, one on a green motorcycle and one on foot. They are believed to have made off towards Stanley Road following the incident and we believe they could have vital information to assist with our continued investigations.

“Police remain at the scene whilst we carry out further enquiries. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC quoting log 703 of 1/1/19.”
