Road closures on Boundary Street following fatal RTC in the early hours

Emergency services are currently in attendance of an RTC involving one vehicle, a Kia Sorento on Boundary Street/Vauxhall Road.

The incident is reported to have happened at around 2.20am when Mersey Fire and Rescue came across the car overturned.

A man, who is believed to be the driver of the car was taken to hospital, however despite the best efforts of paramedics, he sadly passed away as a result of his injuries. His next of kin are in the process of being informed.

A dog, which was also recovered from the vehicle has been taken to the vets for treatment to his paw.

Road closures remain in place between Boundary Street and Commercial Road and between Boundary Street and Sandhills Lane whilst officers deal with the incident.
