**Issued on behalf of 'Dave'** Merseyside Police takes the lead in new series of Cop Car Workshop on Dave

The busy inner workings of a Merseyside Police garage is the subject of an illuminating Dave TV series. The second series of Cop Car Workshop begins on the award-winning channel Dave on Sunday 28th July at 7pm and features Merseyside Police and the work carried out in its hectic Fleet workshop.

The programme goes behind the scenes to see how an inventive team of engineers and mechanics keep Merseyside Police on the road and catching crooks. The first series of the programme was set in Cheshire, but the new second series moves to Merseyside and follows the team headed up by engineering duo Mick Sweetmore and his partner in crime Tony Deus.

The dedicated team have to combat vandalism, crashes, budget cuts, vehicle fatigue, bird strikes, electrical malfunctions and some very, very unhappy prisoners to ensure the Merseyside officers stay on the road catching the bad guys. And that’s before they are asked for specialist, bespoke vehicles like new dog units, unmarked pursuit cars, quad bikes, 360 camera cars and a whole host of demands to help them keep pace with the criminals.

Cop Car Workshop is a UKTV Original series made by Blink Films. The first series is available on demand now on UKTV Play and the new series is on Sundays at 7pm on Dave from July 28th.
