Teenager arrested following knifepoint robbery in Birkenhead this week

Detectives investigating the knifepoint robbery of a teenage boy in Birkenhead on Tuesday have arrested a teenager in connection with the offence. At around 8.20pm on Tuesday, 18 June, the 17-year-old victim was walking along Agnes Road before he was followed by two unknown males, who had been sitting on a bench as he walked past.

The males produced knives and made threats to the victim, before making demands for his phone.

They took the phone from the victim and made off in the direction of Sidney Road.

Following enquiries, a 15-year-old boy from Tranmere was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He has been conditionally bailed to a later date pending further enquiries.
