Three men charged after assault late last night

We have today (10th April) charged three men following a serious assault late yesterday evening (9th April) in Cumberland Street, Liverpool where three other men were punched and kicked resulting in them suffering multiple cuts and swelling to their faces.

Peter Cavanagh, 31, of Hillview Court, Beechwood was charged with two counts of actual bodily harm, Section 39 assault and assault of an emergency worker.

Matthew Connor, 31, of Allerton Road, Tranmere was charged with actual bodily harm.

Samuel Thomas, 27, of Marsh Lane, Bootle was charged with two counts of actual bodily harm and Section 39 assault.

All three men, who were arrested shortly after the incident were taken to custody where they were charged with the above offences.

They have been bailed to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 8th May 2019.
