Two men arrested following assault in Liverpool City Centre in 2018

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Liverpool City Centre last year have arrested two men in connection with the offence.

At 1am on Sunday, 1 July 2018, a group of men were asked to leave Red Door in Berry Street following a verbal altercation with door staff. Once outside, two of the men reportedly assaulted door staff, resulting in one staff member sustaining a fractured jaw and significant bruising. 

Following two CCTV media appeals, a 26-year-old man from Garston was arrested on suspicion of affray and wounding and a second 26-year-old man, also from Garston, was arrested on suspicion of affray and assault occasioning actual body harm.

They have both been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
