Update following death of one-year-old boy admitted to hospital last Friday

We can confirm that a Home Office Post Mortem for a one-year-old boy admitted to hospital from an address in Speke on Friday 12 July has taken place.

The Post Mortem has confirmed that the boy died from head injuries. 

A 23-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody for questioning today, Monday 15 July.

Detective Inspector Sabi Kaur said: “I would like to pass on our sincere condolences to the boy's family following this tragic incident.

“The family are being supported by specialist detectives at what is obviously an incredibly difficult time for everyone concerned. Our thoughts are with all of those affected, and we will continue to investigate the circumstances.”
