Christmas and New Year arrangements 2018/19

All council offices closed:

Monday 24 December at 3pm until Thursday 3 January at 8.45am

Emergency council services

Over the holiday period the emergency out-of-hours service will operate as normal on 03457 565656 for all council services, including matters of child protection.

Community care

Care at home service will operate:

Monday 24 December 8.45am – 3pm
Thursday 27 and Friday 28 December 8.45am – 5pm
Monday 31 December 8.45am – 3pm

Out-of-hours care at home service will operate:

Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 December from 6.45am – 10.30pm
Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 January from 6.45am – 10.30pm

Refuse and recycling

Household collections of residual waste (green bin) will continue three-weekly, with household collections of  garden/food waste (brown bin) and recycling containers continuing fortnightly, over the festive period, as shown on your collection calendar which can be found at bindayfinder.moray.gov.uk. Collections may be carried out earlier than normal, containers should be presented at their usual collection point for 7.30am.

Collections which would normally be made onTuesday 25 December will instead be made on Saturday 22 December.

Collections which would normally be made on Wednesday 26 December will instead be made on Sunday 23 December.

Collections which would normally be made on Tuesday 1 January will instead be made on Saturday 29 December.

Collections which would normally be made on Wednesday 2 January will instead be made on Sunday 30 December.

The special collection and waste hotline will be closed from 3pm on Monday 24 December until 9am Thursday 3 January.

Recycling Centres will be closed on December 25, 26 and January 1 and 2.

Excess residual waste and recycling can be taken to the recycling centres at Chanonry in Elgin, Gollachy in Buckie, Waterford in Forres and Balloch Road in Keith.

Car parks

Libraries

All libraries will close at 3pm on Monday 24 December.

The mobile library service will not operate from Monday 24 December to Friday 4 January inclusive.

Elgin office closed: Monday 24 at 3pm until Thursday 27 December at 9am
Friday 28 December at 4.30pm until Thursday 3 January 2019 at 9am

Open: Strictly by appointment, Thursday 27 and Friday 28 December for death registration purposes only.
