Nominations open for Moray Young Citizen Awards 2020
NOMINATIONS are now open for the 2020 Moray Young Citizen Awards.
The awards scheme is jointly run by Moray Council, Diageo, Police Scotland and Elgin Rotary Club, and nominations are invited from schools, community and third sector groups for group awards.
There are four categories: primary school award, global citizenship award, secondary school award and community award.
Awards will be made to the groups across Moray which have made the most outstanding contributions to their local environment, or to the lives of people in their community at home or abroad. This could include tackling anti-social behaviour or vandalism or using a creative idea to improve the local community. It could also include support for children and young people in a partner school overseas.
Moray Council’s Head of Education, Vivienne Cross, said: “The Moray Young Citizen Awards give us the opportunity to celebrate the citizenship activities of our children and young people.
“The awards have gone from strength to strength and really showcase a strong partnership between Police Scotland, Diageo and Moray Council. Over the years we have been joined by Elgin Rotary Club, adding strength to a sustainable partnership and annual awards ceremony.”
