The voltage drop is evaluated at a Zener diode in reverse direction and is indicated by an LED. The circuit diagram printing enables clear identification and minimizes faulty wiring.

End devices are protected from surge voltage damage by means of type 3 device protection, and to do this, the device protector has to be protected with a suitable overcurrent protection device.
