Summer Memories – the essence of summer on murals

Photowall is celebrating summer by launching the mural collection Summer Memories. Summer meadows in full flower, garden roses the size of saucers and freshly picked gooseberries warm from the sun – these are some of the motifs created by promising young designer Ulrika Gustafsson.

In Photowall’s Summer Memories collection Ulrika Gustafsson, the designer behind the company Plingsulli, has captured the very essence of summer. Morning coffee on the terrace, bare feet on long forest walks and picnics in a leafy glade. Ulrika has taken her inspiration from her childhood summers.

“The collection is about memories from hot summer days. A walk with my sister in a summer meadow where cow parsley, buttercups and water avens were in full bloom, picking ripe gooseberries in old enamel cups at home in the garden, and rambling along narrow winding paths through the forest,” she says.

Ulrika Gustafsson studied at HDK – the School of Design and Crafts at the University of Gothenburg – and creates playful patterns mainly aimed at evoking emotions and telling a story.

“I want to create patterns that are beautiful. They often tell a story which is hidden among drawn lines and nice colours,” she explains.
