Peru floods - an update: Hundreds of families return home after flood clean up
Hundreds of Peruvian families made homeless by flash flooding in March this year have returned home, with hundreds more set to follow them in the next few weeks.
Thanks to a two day training course run by Practical Action, the Poul Due Jensen Foundation, UNDP and the local government, people started to return home to the towns of Villa Batanes and La Encantada, near Piura in Northern Peru.
A further 531 families from the towns of Villa Batanes, La Encantada (Chulucanas), Cuatro de Mayo (Castile) and La Huaquilla (Morropón) are also expected to return home soon.
