Elder Care White Paper
Jul 23, 2012 08:01 BST
It's good to see that the government is taking on board the needs of such important people within our society. I am pleased we now have this paper in place.
The aspects of it that promote an individual's well being and independence are vital. The need for services that are tailored where possible to their wishes will help to transform the way we direct care for the future; our future.
My book 'The Heart of Care' and my films and training pack reveal the experience of those in receipt of uncompassionate care. A powerful insight into what it can feel like to be in receipt and the harmful effects a lack of compassion can create.
With knowledge, understanding and empathy we can take the steps needed in mind body and spirit. Then we can offer the support, choice and enablement required.
I am delighted that my work and services will be used to enhance the learning and training so desperately needed to ensure that services become truly dignified and person centred. What can you do?
