Crew change vessels with fixed harbour base

ESVAGT’s crew change vessels will get a fixed base midway between logistics, the office and the workshops.

ESVAGT is all about vessels and working at sea. It is therefore rather symbolic that crew change vessels will now have a fixed base on the quayside right in the middle of everything.

The ’Esvagt Beta’ and the ’Esvagt Alpha’ have been given a place in the section of Dokhavnen that is surrounded by the buildings that make up ESVAGT’s headquarters, giving them a fixed base midway between the offices, logistics and workshops.

This is advantageous in a number of ways, says Kristian Ole Jakobsen, Chief Operating Officer for ESVAGT:

“We wanted to gather all the company facilities at one address because it gives good synergy. Placing the vessels so close to the office, logistics and workshops strengthens dialogue between vessel and onshore and makes it much easier for everyone to meet,” he says.

This placement also means that the crew change vessels own crew and crew members from other vessels have easier access to the newly opened Crew Centre on the first floor of the logistics building.

The fixed base has also opened the door to a green initiative:

”We have installed switchboards on the quayside so we can use onshore power on board the moored vessels. This reduces emissions as the motors on board the vessel are no longer used to generate the electricity needed on board,” says Kristian Ole Jakobsen.
