Press release -

Great Northern and the community host celebrations for Her Majesty at Enfield Chase

Enfield Chase station, with local Leo’s Coffee Shop and The Enfield Society, a community group who have adopted the station to tend flowers, have joined forces to organise a station event this Friday to help celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday.

On Friday 10 June, millions of people will be celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday up and down the country and to support this we will be joining in with the railway industries celebrations, known as “Station to Station”.

Over 90 railway stations across the land are joining together to provide a stage to celebrate this important milestone birthday, and offering a wonderful array of activities as part of the nationwide celebrations.

The event at Enfield Chase will run from 14.00 to 16.00, with free refreshments. The group will also be aiming to raise funds for MIND.

Great Northern’s Passenger Services Director, Keith Jipps, said: “We are always working to put our stations at the heart of the communities they serve. This is another great opportunity for people to come down to the station and join in with something that will be quite unique. It’s wonderful to see our staff and the community coming together to celebrate this once in a lifetime event and we hope lots of people will get involved.”

The official website www.queenscelebration.com provides more information on what’s planned at stations throughout the weekend.
