Press release -

Local libraries to host local college taster sessions

Rochdale Borough Libraries in partnership with Hopwood Hall College are again hosting taster sessions for adult learning courses from Monday 21 July.

The tasters have been organised to give adults an insight into the types of community education available locally and to get more people in the borough learning.

Councillor Neil Emmott, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services and Neighbourhoods, said:

“Similar events happened in June and the feedback from customers was fantastic. This is a great opportunity for adults in the borough to experience the types of courses available at Hopwood Hall College and to see which courses best suit them; people can sample more than one if they wish.”

Hopwood Hall’s mission is ‘to provide the widest range of quality education and training to learners in the borough of Rochdale and beyond, to ensure they achieve their individual, educational and employment goals, whilst meeting the skills needs of the region’.

If the taster sessions are popular, it is planned that the full six to 10 week courses will be offered in Rochdale Borough Libraries from September, making education much more accessible.
