Baroness Brady launches nation-wide search for Life After Stroke stars
Baroness Brady, politician, businesswoman and star of The Apprentice, is launching a nation-wide search for inspiring stroke survivors, carers and volunteers to take part in the Stroke Association’s 2015 Life After Stroke Awards (LASA).
The Life After Stroke Awards, sponsored by the TONI & GUY Charitable Foundation, celebrate the courage of the 1.2 million stroke survivors living in the UK, and the dedication of thousands of carers and volunteers who support them. It is a cause that is particularly important to Baroness Brady after she survived a brain aneurysm in 2006, which could have led to a stroke. A long-term supporter of the charity, she said:
“Stroke can strike at any age and it can be devastating, it is the leading cause of adult disability in the UK. The Stroke Association’s Life After Stroke Awards celebrate rebuilding your life and conquering stroke with courage, commitment and determination.
“Nominations open on 5 November, if you know an inspiring stroke survivor, carer, volunteer or professional then nominate them today and give them the chance to be part of a fabulous celebration.”
There are several award categories and the closing date for nominations is 30 January 2015. Winners are invited to attend a star-studded award ceremony at London’s Rosewood Hotel on 25 June 2015. Details of how to make your nomination are available at www.stroke.org.uk/lasa.

A stroke is a brain attack which happens when the blood supply to the brain is cut off, caused by a clot or bleeding in the brain.
