Around 492 people from Swindon ran, jogged and walked on Sunday 15 April, raising more than £19,500 for the Stroke Association at the charity’s Resolution Run.

Tara Galloway, Head of Stroke Support for the Stroke Association, said: “In January 2018 the Stroke Association was made aware that East Sussex County Council were considering the cessation of £80,000 of funding for the Stroke Association’s support services in the county.

The Stroke Association welcomes the announcement of an additional £2.8 billion funding package for the NHS in England, and hope that the £350 million being made available immediately will help to ease the pressures on strained health services. However, today’s announcement falls well short of the funding that NHS’s leaders say it needs.

My name is Katie Simpson. I'm 30 years old, and a mother of two beautiful girls. I had a stroke in 2013 at the age of 25 years old. I had my stroke whilst I was 16 weeks pregnant, which led to clots in the baby's placenta, causing the pregnancy to end.
